Andrea Bocelli was born 22 September 1958 in the rural village of Lajatico in Tuscany. He was sadly born with poor eyesight and later due to a soccer accident at the age of 12 he became completely blind.  Andrea was encouraged by his parents from an early age to develop his musical talent, beginning piano lessons at the age of six and later adding flute and the saxophone.  Later he developed his wonderful talent of Opera singing and became a refined tenor who is recognized International.  

Today Andrea Bocelli is the biggest-selling solo artist in the history of classical music with a total of thirteen solo studio albums with pop and classical music and two greatest hits albums selling over 70 million copies worldwide. Celine Dion once famously said “if God would have a singing voice, he would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli”

He has also found time to complete eight opera’s since 1994, performing in Macbeth, Carmen and Madame Butterfly to name just a few.  On the 24th February 2012, Andrea Bocelli performed in "Romeo & Juliet" at the famous Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa.

Andrea serves as its honorary president and for one night only every July, Andrea Bocelli performs live at the open air amphitheatre. Throughout the years the Andrea Bocelli Concert has attracted musical guests such as opera singers Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras to classical crossover artists Sarah Brightman and Katherine Jenkins as well as pop stars Zucchero, Laura Pausini and Elisa.
