Bulgaria has recently been ranked 8th Best Value Tourist Destination Globally by Lonely Planet's 'Best In Travel 2010' guide which contains the worlds hottest travel trends, journeys, destinations and experiences for this coming year.

ActivityBreaks.com offers ski breaks toBulgaira's No1 Ski Resort:-Bansko. They have made a lot of improvements over the last couple of years to make Bansko the best ski resort in Bulgaria.  Bansko is made up with two main ski centres Chalin Valog (1100 - 1660m) and Shiligarnika (1700-2500m.  There is a total of 70 kilometers of marked pistes.  They are situated above the town on the norther slopes of Pirin and can be reach by the new gondola lift that starts in Bansko.  Bansko has a great snow record with a ski season which runs right through from December to April.  They also have a total of 44 snow cannons if required.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an expert you will be well catered for. The resorts runs an English speaking ski school.
The price for ski lessons can vary from 60 Bulgarian Leva for a group of 2-3 people for 2 hours, or 55 Leva for 2-3 children for 2 hours up to the age of 12.  The resort is also ideal for snowboarders with a new snow park built to 2010/2011.

A 6 day ski pass for Bansko costs approx 117 Euro & a 6 days ski pass for a child up to 12 will cost approx 70 Euro.

Over recent years the area has received a large amount of investment and this has created a good variety of accommodation and state of the art ski lifts which means less, if any queues for the lifts. Bansko enjoys having the most modern ski centres of all the Bulgarian resorts and offers luxury hotels, family hotels and great value self catering apartments.

After a long day on the slopes you can experience one of the many 'Mehana' or Taverns. These taverns can be found all over the resort, they are traditional restaurants serving up local cuisine and wines, while you enjoy the hospitality and authentic entertainment. Bansko also has a range of bars, night clubs and restaurants serving British, Italian and even Indian
cuisine. The resort is a really interesting mix of authentic Bulgarian culture and architecture combined with a modern ski centre.

To get to Bansko you need to fly to Sofia which is about 2 hours and 20 minutes from the resort, most of our Bulgarian ski breaks include return airport transfers or car hire which is very useful.

Why not take a look at our Bansko short ski break option, which includes ski pass, ski hire, ski lessons and airport transfers.  The same break is also avaialble for 7 nights.
