Have you considered a holiday to Turkey?

Turkey Holidays

Turkey has become a very popular destination in recent years due to holidaymakers escaping the weakness of the pound in the eurozone. With only a 4 hour flight from the UK & Ireland, Turkey offers a radical change in food, culture and language.

Turkey has 2 European and 6 Asian Countries for neighbours along its borders.  This has a great influence on their cuisine with Mediterranean, Central Asian, Caucasian and Arabic influences.

Turkey is generally divided into 7 regions: The Black Sea Region, The Marmara Region, The Aegean, The Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the East and Southeast Anatolia regions.

The country is surrounded by sea on 3 sides; The Black Sea to the north, the Mediterranean to the south and the Aegean Sea to the west.

Did you know that?

  • The capital city of Turkey is Ankara (Not Istanbul!)
  • The population is 70.4 million
  • Turkey introduced coffee to Europe
  • Two of the Seven wonders of the Ancient World stood in Turkey. (The Temple of Artemis in Ephesus and the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus in Bodrum)

Turkey offers a wide range of possible holiday destinations and activities: from the domed Mosques of Istanbul to the Roman ruins along the western and southern coasts, sunny beaches to cold and snowy mountains in the east. There is something for everyone’s taste.

Why not visit the European Capital of Culture 2010, Istanbul.  Istanbul is the pearl of the east and the jewel of the west.  It is divided by two very different cultures, religions and social views.  Every street corner has a story and every building has a past. It is very deserving of the title of European Capital of Culture.  It has now been given a chance to showcase its cultural life and cultural development. There will be a number of events taking place during 2010 so this is an ideal time to visit.

If you enjoy a round of golf and like trying out different championship golf courses, then why not consider Turkey.  Thanks to the warm temperatures Turkey is an ideal place for a golf break. You can relax at the 5* Klassis Golf Club where you will find an 18 Hole Championship Golf Course and excellent leisure facilities (sure to keep non-golfers happy!)

Although Turkey is usually known for its coasts, swimming and bathing, it is also surprisingly a skiing paradise.  Uludag is the most famous winter resort in Turkey and only 40 minutes from Istanbul.  The best time of year to go skiing is 20th December to 20th March where the average snowfall is 3 meters.
