As Easter gets closer and we begin stocking up on chocolate eggs and dressing up as Easter bunnies we thought you would love to find out some of the weird and whacky ways people celebrate Easter!
Here are the top 6 strange traditions we uncovered:
1. In the main town square of Haux, France over 4,500 eggs are used to cook up a giant omelet that feeds up to 1,000 people so its time to dig out that giant fork you could never find a use for and head to France!
2. In Finland children put soot on their faces and dress up carrying broomsticks so they can go begging, in Western Finland bonfires are burnt on Easter Sunday, this tradition is in place to warn of pesky witches flying around between Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
3. On Easter Sunday in County Durham, English people partake in 'Egg Jarping' with hard boiled eggs. The aim is to tap your opponents egg until it breaks, with the winner going through to the next round. It's all about who's eggs survives until the end. A good hit by a Jarper is called a 'dunch'!
4. Easter in Germany is the time for eggs, chocolate bunnies and bonfires. People burn their Christmas Trees and other wood they have saved through winter to welcome the coming of the Spring.
5. Greeks in Corfu throw pots and pans out their windows on Easter Saturday to mark the First Resurrection, so its hard hat time if you plan a visit to Greece over Easter!
6. The award for the strangest and most controversial of Easter traditions must go to Slovakia, where men visit their female relatives and friends on Easter Monday to ask for chocolate and alcholic treats. During their visit the men spank the woman with special handmade willow whips! The spank is not supposed to be painful and woman can enjoy being chased! Imm .... dont know if this sounds fun or is just plain barbaric?
