Nice is a seaside city, located on the beautiful Mediterranean coast. It is blessed with stunning crystal blue water and pebble beaches.

Its worth taking the time to discover Nice in depth : wander at random through the narrow streets of the old town and then stroll along the famous "Promenade" before entering into the heart of the city with its rich architectural and cultural heritage and its parks and gardens.

Nice has a total of 19 museums and galleries, 32 classified historical monuments and 300 hectares of parks and gardens, woodland and green areas in addition to 150 ornamental lakes and fountains.

Location Information

Nice is a large French Rivera town on the southern coast of France. It is also the fifth largest town in France.

The Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport is the second largest in France. It has connections to most major European cities as well as many international destinations.

There are buses and taxis readily available from the airport to Nice city centre. Nice is also well connected through train routes to the rest of France.

1 - MarineLand: Shows and attractions with marine animals and Antibes Land amusement park.

2 - La Promenade Des Anglais: To which Nice owes it fame and glory! This is a superb sea-front boulevard.

3 - Museum of Contemporary & Modern Art: This original architecture and a major permanent collection tracing the history of the European and American avant-garde since the early sixties.

4 - Asian Arts Museum: Designed by the Japenese architect Kenzo Tange, in the heart of Parc Phoenix, in a subtle architecture of white marble, glass and steel, this museum offers classical works and contemporary creations.

5 - Matisse Museum: This completely renovated 17th-century Genoan-style villa in the heart of the olive grove in the Gardens of Cimiez houses the personal collection of the great Fauvist painter who lived in Nice from 1917 until his death in 1954.

6 - Le Palais De Justice: Law Courts built in neo-classical style at the end of the last century.  The courthouse annex occupies Caserne Rusca, former barracks across the square.  A pleasant pedestrian area separates the two buildings.

7 - L'Opera: Today's Opera House was built on the site of the former municpal theatre, destroyed by fire in 1881. Inuagurated in 1885, it is a typical example of Second Empire architecture.

8 - Le Cours Saleya: Every morning (except Mondays which are reserved for the antiques market) you will find the fruit and vegetable market and, throughout the day, the famous flower market.  The numerous restaurants and boutiques add an extra touch of liveliness.

9 - La Place Rossetti: In front of the Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate, in the heart of the old Nice, this square is one of the liveliest parts of town with its restaurant terraces and ice-cream parlours.

10 - La Place Massena: The heart of the city! On the norther side, elegant buildings in a rich red colour, to the east a perspective towards the Tuscany style hillsides.
