Nowadays, tourist centres offer services to visitors all around the Krkonose. In summer peaceful valleys tempt you to go for a walk, a hike along ridge way from Pomezní boudy to Harrachov charm you by picturesque views. The Krkonose have abundance of marked tourist paths suitable for people of all ages. If you are not a keen tourist but want to enjoy a beautiful view from the peaks of mountains you can use chair lifts. The most favourite trips are either to a source of the river Elbe or to a top of the highest mountain of the Czech Republic - to Mt. Snezka (1 602 m). The winter season starts in December and lasts until April. There is a specific climate in the Krkonose. Skiing slopes are kept passable daily and in St. Peter they are artificially covered with snow if necessary. Skiing schools provide learning courses. There are ski equipment shops and rental services.
The Krkonose is a venue of many international championships. Ski buses provide transport between St. Peter and Medvedín. There are good conditions for winter hiking and cross-country skiing in the vicinity of Spindleruv Mlýn. There are many marked cross-country tracks of various lengths. Chair lifts and ski lifts are also available.
