Madesimo is a small but attractive village nestled amongst tree-covered slopes of the Valle San Giacomo, a short drive north of Lake Como. It enjoys a good snow record with skiing on offer from early December through to late April. The resort has an efficient lift system providing great access to a wide range of terrain.
The resort covers some 50km of pistes and is highly situated, so village snow is usual.
This area is good for beginners who also have some easy blues to tackle. The ski school is excellent and most of the sking is for intermediates who enjoy long and challenging runs in perfect snow.
Advanced skiers have a few blacks inlcuding the famous Canalone; which is steep and bumpy at the top, then a long gun-barrel.
Snow cannons cover all the lower slopes. The nursery slopes are closed to boarders who have two terrain parks and a half-pipe.
