The ski resort of Brand-Nagelberg is one of the smaller stations in Austria, with access to 36km of piste. It is a modest sized picturesque, fairly low village near the Swiss border.
The attractive traditional village is strung along the valley floor and the ski area, although relatively small and gentle, is ideal for families and groups of up to middle intermediate standard.
Skiing is good for recreational skiers and beginners of all ages. The more experienced can go off piste and despite Brand's relatively low-lying position, there is still good vertical descents.
The runs are well-linked and kept in good condition if there is sufficient snow, while there are some attractive tree runs back down to the village.
The main access lifts are at either end of the village and each of the chairlifts feed a series of drag lifts serving slopes which emanate from the top of the Paludlift runs at 1920m, and split to give runs down different valleys which are separated by a steep rided rocky gully.
