Ischgl is a charming village with high slopes and reliable snow. There is a superb modern lift system and frequent ski-buses down the valley to Kappl and up it to Galtür.
Ischgl is well suited for snowboarders. Between Idjoch and Idalp is a championship half pipe and excellent terrain park-one of the best in Europe. There is plenty of cross-country trails in the valley with around 48km/30 miles of track.
The Snow reliability is very good. There is snow making on various runs. There is plenty of beautiful off-piste to be found with a guide. The best areas for experts are Greitspitz and Palinkopf. Most of the slopes are wide and are ideal for intermediates. Beginners must go up the mountain to Idalp, where there are good, sunny, snow-sure nursery slopes.
