San Martino di Castrozza has kept its traditional 'Alpine' charm. The resort of San Martino is one of Italy's best known ski resorts. It boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe, offering a back drop of forested hills backed by 3000m of Dolomitic rock.
The ski area (Passo Rolle) is situated a free 5 minute bus link from the village centre. It enjoys a unique position in the Dolomites; it is the southern point of the Dolomiti Superski which has always plenty of snow due to favourable weather conditions and temperatures. The ski season runs from the end of November through to the end of April.
The pistes extend for over 60km with runs for all levels. The pistes are wide and well prepared and rarely over crowded. A series of cross-country trails have been developed on Pra' delle Nasse.
There is a total of 25 lifts, 1 cable car, 2 cabin lifts, 15 chairlifts and 7 button lifts which gives a total capacity of almost 30,000 people per hour.
