Piancavallo

The Ski Area

Piancavallo is located at a height of 1300m.  The resort also has a growing reputation of being one of the best-equipped ski stations in Italy.

The resort has a great record for snow holding. It's a perfect area for beginners and ski schools but that doesn't mean that the better skiers are going to be bored. Piancavallo offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers and offers some good boarding.

Snowmaking :- Piancavallo is able to augment natural snow, on 21km of ski runs, with 150 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 12 Ski Lifts of Piancavallo are able to uplift 6,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

 

Location

The resort of Piancalvallo is situated on a plateau in the southern ranges of the eastern Alps in Italy.

There are two airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Piancavallo are perfectly feasible. The nearest international airport is located in Venice (100km) and Trieste (145km).

Ryanair fly into both airports!

Piancavallo is a fairly lively resort and very convenient.  The village is well equipped with bars and restaurants where you definitely will have a good time.

There are 5 bars, 4 restaurants and 2 night clubs at the resort and there is also an indoor ice skating rink. Other activities are available such as horse riding, winter walks, climbing, snowtubing and an ice park.
