Example of your Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival Sofia Airport. Pick up the rent-a-car. Departure to Koprivshtitsa museum town. Arrival after 2 hours. Overnight. Approximate mileage: 120 km

Day 2: Explore Koprivshtitsa with its typical architecture and small cobblestone streets on your own. Opportunity to try out horse riding. Departure to Plovdiv, just 1.5 hours away. Check in at the hotel.

Visit of the Old Plovdiv Architectural reserve with the Roman Amphitheatre, the complex of National-revival houses, St. Constantine and Helena Church, the small workshops and antique shops. Plovdiv is the 2nd largest Bulgarian city, once capital city of Philip the 2nd of Macedonia - the father of Alexander the Great. Approximate mileage: 120 km

Day 3: Departure from Plovdiv to Bansko museum town, located at the foothills of Pirin Mountain National Park ( UNESCO site ). Arrival after appr 3,5 hours. Possible walking/ hiking in the area of Pirin Mountain and National park. Approximate mileage: 200 - 220 km

Day 4: Time to enjoy the mountains and nature. Possible day trip to Melnik - the smallest Bulgarian town, once important centre of wine production and trade and Rojen Monastery (9thC) with wonderful panorama towards the mountains of the Greek-Bulgarian border. Return to Bansko. Approximate mileage: 200 - 220 km

Day 5: Departure from Bansko via Rila Monastery UNESCO site to Sofia. Check in at the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight. Approximate mileage: 240 km

Day 6: Free time in Sofia before departure and return the car at Sofia Airport.

Car Hire Information:

Car Type: Renault Megane, Seat Toledo, Seat Ibiza, Opeal Vectra or similar.
The car will be available at Sofia Airport.
The driver must be 20 years of age, and must have valid personal documents including a passport and drivers license.
The driver must have held their license for a minimum of 1 year.
There is a deposit of €100-150 which is required.
