Itinerary:
First day:
Arrival at Faro Airport, where you pick up your rented car for the weekend. You drive to Mexilhoeira Grande, where you will stay in a 3* 16th century guesthouse.
Second day:
Today you will go to Alvor, where you will experience 4 hours of kitesurfing. The instructor is well trained, and the equipment is all included. Many feel that kiteboarding is only for the super athletic or the daredevils. Fortunately, this is not true. If your physical condition is normal and if you feel comfortable in the water, kitesurfing is a great sport! Since large kites produce large amounts of power, it is crucial that a beginner learns safe and responsible use of all equipment. The customers are fully insured according to the Portuguese law and the instructors are certified by the IKO and will give the customer an IKO certificate after the course.
Third day:
Today you will make a fantastic 3 hour kayak trip on the Atlantic Ocean, you will have a good view on the beautiful Algarve coastline and will have the possibility to enter a few grottoes.
Fourth day:
Today you will drive back to Faro Airport after a great weekend on the water.
Car Hire Information:
Credit card required. Minimum age 20 years. In case of damage, 450€ at your own risk OR you can get insurance for 5€ per day. Type of car: 3 doors, p.e. Peugeot 307. Upgrade to larger car or car with air condition: prices and availability on request.
Additional Information
If there is no wind, an hour of kitesurfing will be replaced by a 15 minutes class of wakeboarding and a canoe trip on an estuary lagoon or a mountainbike trip with a roadbook and a map.
The kitesurf company is well insured; the customers are fully insured according to the Portuguese law. Their instructors are certified by the IKO and will give the customer an IKO certificate after the course.

16th century Guesthouse
Description
The guesthouse, is a characteristic house, which was built in the 16th century. The 5 spacious rooms each have their own bathroom.
It has a common living room and dining room where you can meet the other guests. In the large kitchen you can use the fridge, microwave and coffee machine, so that you can prepare your lunch.
The garden has some cosy corners where you can relax, read a book and enjoy the garden. A swimming pool is at your disposal, too.
Accommodation Location
Mexilhoeira Grande is a small village in the Algarve, at a distance of 1.5 kms of the coast. In the village there are a few small supermarkets, a bank, a post office, some restaurants and bars, and 1 km outside of the village there is a pizzeria.
Mexilhoeira Grande is situated near a protected nature area, where flamingos hibernate and where local fishermen collect mussels. In the rural environment you will find many quiet tarmac roads, ideal for cycling and hiking!
