The city of Esposende is a few miles away, as well as Fão and Apúlia. The pre-historic Castro de S. Lourenço is a national monument and one of the best examples of the pre-historic culture in Portugal.

Esposende has a great nature resources, revealed in the traditional architecture and in the population uses and traditional work, stage of an intense cultural life, mainly in the populations of Forjães, Apúlia, Fão and Esposende, where theatre, music and traditional spectacles rival with gastronomic events, exhibitions and street events, prepared by local organizations, the Town Council and the Municipal Museum, in Esposende.
