Not many foreigners have discovered Schilpario and it remains a "real slice of Italy" with prices way below what one would normally pay.  The resort offers excellent purpose built tracks for the enthusiasts of cross-country skiing and or snow shoe walking in the heart of an almost mystical fir-wood forest, plunged into nature. The landscape is really unique and by ski or snow shoe, you will enjoy exploring this magical wilderness.

You ski pass or show shoes will be available for collection from the hotel. The Cross Country centre is only 150 meters from the Hotel.

Pizzo Camino (2492m) overhangs the runs which wind through the fir-trees. Beside the village, the gentle gradient slope of the mountain allows you to take advantage of an extraordinary Ski school association, founded in 1979, with trained and qualified teachers.

Next to the ski trails is an ice-skating centre (Creberg palace). Moreover, one of the trails at Pista degli Abeti circuit, has night lighting that enables people to ski on Wednesday nights from 8pm to 10:30pm.

There is one downhill ski lift should you want a change from Schilpario's cross country centre and for a local supplement of around €12 Euro the Hotel will supply ski hire and downhill ski passes for the day.
