Ski Holidays in Slovenia

Ski Breaks in Slovenia

Slovenia is a great destination for short ski breaks, offering good snow conditions despite the low altitude of its slopes compared to its Western European neighbours. Its small but scenic ski areas offer great value and friendly service, as well as a surprising variety of slopes less than one hour from Ljubljana airport.

Our short ski holidays in Slovenia give you the opportunity to ski four different ski resorts in one holiday; Vogel/Bohinji, Krvavec, Kranjska Gora and Soriska Planina in the Julian Alps.

Enjoy a warm welcome from our hosts Clive and Myrna at the Reka Hisa Ski Lodge, the ideal base for your ski break in Slovenia.

Flights to Slovenia

Our packages don’t include flights, meaning you have greater choice and flexibility when booking your holiday. Low cost airlines that fly to Ljubljana include Easy Jet from Gatwick and Stansted, Wizz Air from Luton and Adria airways from Manchester. You can also fly with Easy Jet from Gatwick to Klagenfurt just over the border in Austria.

Ski school

If you would like to learn to ski in Slovenia or brush up on your skills then try our learn to ski package, with 9 hours of tuition included in the price. If you just want an hour or two of tuition, then this can be organised locally.

Accommodation

You will be staying at the cosy Reka Hisa lodge, around 45 mins from Ljubljana airport, close to Lake Bled. If you have any requests or queries concerning your accommodation, please drop us a line before you book.

Eating and drinking

Slovenian cuisine is a mix of influences, from Italy in the west to Hungary in the east, and as such most restaurants on and off the slopes retain an international flavour, offering a little of everything. Your hosts at the lodge provide delicious home-cooked meals in the evening, while on the slopes prices are what you would expect in cheaper Western European resorts.

Après ski is quite low key here as the resorts are small and quiet on weekdays.

Nearby places of interest

Lake Bled is less than 10 minutes’ drive from the lodge. A popular summer destination, in the winter it offers beautiful views over Bled Island in the middle of the lake and the imposing castle that overlooks it from a cliff. The town of Bled is a lovely place to wander around one evening after skiing, and make sure to try the local delicacy, the heavenly cream cakes the town is famous for!

The elegant Slovenian capital Ljubljana is also worth a visit if you have time before your departure flight – you can leave your luggage at the bus station and then get the bus to the airport afterwards.
