The Alpenhotel Wittelsbach is situated right in the centre of the famous village of Ruhpolding. Busses, tourist information, trains, leisure centre, spa, hiking trails, museums - all nearby withing walking distance. Ruhpolding is only 30 mins away from Salzburg and it is famous for its yearly Biathlon-World Cups. In 2012 the Biathlon World Championships will take place here. There are trains every hour towards Munich and Salzburg. Traunstein is the next little town for shopping, just 14km away. Ruhpolding offers a wide range of leisure facilities such as swimming pools inside and outside, spa with saunas, ice skating, cable cars, chair lifts, ski slopes for cross country and down hill, museums, free bus service for guests, free ski buss into the higher skiing areas, and more . . . . Take the shuttle bus from Salzburg airport to the train station and then take the Munich train to change in Traunstein into the little Ruhpolding train. All together approx. 1 hour 30 mins.
