The Schatzalp Hotel enjoys a unique location on a sunny plateau, 300 meters above Davos and guarantees the most hours of sunshine in this region. The hotel is situated amidst a beautiful botanical garden with 3500 species of alpine plants. This unique hotel has its own private ski area of up to 2’500 metres and ski runs start directly at the hotel. It is one of the rare regions in the Alps with guaranteed snow.
Traffic-free Schatzalp is reached by a funicular railway from the centre of Davos Platz. In 4 minutes you reach the top and admire the wonderful panorama from the restaurant terrace, or strolling through the forest park Schatzalp. The Davos-Schtazalp train can reach the “Magic Mountain” in four minutes and operates from 07.30 am to 2.00am.
Enjoy winter hikes on the Sun Trail or the waterfall tour which takes up to an hour. Why not try out the toboggan run which is illuminated to 23.00 or enjoy a fondue or raclette in the panorama restaurant. The piano bar has daily live music!

Children in the winter on Schatzalp:
The best hotel is the wideness and there is nothing better for children than to go and discover. Join us while we build snowmen, castles and igloos or search for animal tracks. We can look out for deer and rabbits!
Enjoy great fun racing with mum and dad down to Davos on a bobsleigh ride through swirling powder snow on the hillside. Enjoy unlimited use of toboggan where the path is illuminated to 11.00 pm.
Childcare / babysitting service available for CHF 25 - per hour.

Schatzalp/Strela Ski Area:
There are 2 main pistes that can be used all guests staying at Schatzalp Hotel. Strela-Standard 1 is about 3.4km and Strela-Standard 2 is 1.9km. You will also find Variante Guggerbachtall, which is a not prepared yellow marked piste. You can also use the Descent Davos Dorf via Bobbahnstrasse which is 3.3km. There is a ski school available and ski lessons can be arranged for an extra charge.
Davos
Davos is one of the most well known ski areas and it is also the highest town in Europe at 1560 meters and offers some truly diverse skiing on six different mountains. A separate ski pass would need to be purchased.

Davos is divided into six different ski areas – Parsenn, Pischa, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Madrisa and Gotschna (some of them are linked by lifts). The resort is also lift-linked to the ski resort of Klosters a favourite with the British Royal Family.
There is a train that operates from Davos to Klosters which takes up to 20 minutes. You can purchase a 1 Day SKi pass for the Davos/Klosters Mountains costing apporx CHF68. You can use this on the pistes of Parsenn/Gotshna, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa & Madrisa.
In all the resorts you will find a vast array of immaculately maintained cruising blues and reds runs. These ski resorts are ideal for all skiers!
The more experienced and advanced will discover the allure of some stunning, but easily accessible off piste touring, both in Davos, and the linked ski area of Klosters.
For those Non-skiers you will find a plethora of mountain restaurants, accessible via the lift system. In the centre of Davos you will find world class ice hockey, cross country skiing, ice skating, swimming, art galleries, museums, spas and some great shopping.
The Davos nightlife is centred around "Davos Platz" and caters to all tastes. You will find numerous bars and a wide variety of restaurants with a number of night-spots open beyond midnight.
The other 4 resorts can be reached easily in few minutes directly from the base station of Schatzalp bahn as a ski bus operates every 7 minutes.

The Art Nouveau-style nostalgic Schatzalp Hotel was built in the years 1898 to 1900. The architecture is preserved in its original form. The hotel was repeatedly mentioned in the literary classic “The Magic Mountain” by Thomas Mann. The hotel is 300 meters above Davos and is a car free zone. The Schatzalp hotel is the ideal place for rest and relaxation!
The hotel facilities include Art Nouveau dining room, spacious lobby, piano bar, terrace restaurant snow beach, sauna, rustic restaurant Schatzalp, Children's Playground, Forest Park and the Alpine Garden (alpine flowers and the summer and Winter sleigh tracks.)
Bedrooms: The rooms are in old style but have charm and are very comfortable. All rooms have bath or shower, WC, telephone, radio, and modem connection and there is also free Wi-Fi access in the south rooms and the hotel lobby. All south-facing rooms have a loggia (large balcony for sunbathing). Superior south-facing twin rooms are very spacious.
Meals: breakfast buffet and four course dinner are served in the hotel's dining room. There is also the rustic restaurant Schatzalp which is located just a few steps from the hotel and enjoys lovely views over Davos.
Facilities: small sauna, charming lounge and bar with open fireplace; hotel lift; dining room; restaurant Schatzalp next to the hotel with a popular sun terrace for lunches. Guests have free use of the Schatzalp funicular.

Schatzalp Hotel is located 300 meters above Davos and can be reached by a unique funicular railway from the centre of Davos Platz. In 4 minutes you will reach the centre of Davos.
Transfer time from Zurich 2 Hours 30 minutes approximately.

If you arrive by car, we would like to arrange in advance a car park for you at a price of CHF 20.00 per night.

Shuttle Bus Zurich Airport - Davos: From early December to Easter runs every Saturday, a shuttle bus service between Zurich Airport and Davos.
