Meeting you at your accommodation, we will guide you to and through all the experiences, the spectacle of the abundant rock and cwm’s available in the park. Our base for the weekend will be the Nant Gwynant campsite (or bunk house if preferred), 2.5 miles outside Llanberis. This puts us right in the heart of the national park, surrounded by some of the best activity environments in Britain. Each day we will break out from our base to find new challenge, some outside your tent or a few minutes down the road and on other days we will travel a little bit further to give you the best experience of what Snowdon has to offer.
The experience will be tailored to the experience and capability of the individuals in the group and progress accordingly. But at the end of each day, return to the comfort of our accommodation to unwind, rest those sore muscles, take on a hearty meal and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
This is an experience to a mountainous and rocky area and use of water, thus there is an inherent risk involved in such an activity. Whilst every effort is made to anticipate all eventualities and medical cover provided for emergencies, it should be understood that participation in the activities is at your own risk and with the acceptance of that inherent risk, shortening and/or termination of the experience is at the instructor discretion.
Preparation and Training
An experience of this type and in this environment is an exciting but a challenging prospect and as such we suggest some preparation. The experiences of the individual participants on the expedition may vary greatly, from an experienced rock climber to a complete beginner, so the level of preparation depends upon you. A generally good level of fitness will greatly improve the enjoyment you will have on the experience.
Expedition Itinerary
Please note that this is an example itinerary, and is dependent upon team ability, local conditions and infrastructure.
Day 1: We will meet you at your accommodation on the afternoon/evening of your arrival and help you to set up camp and/or settle in. We will then introduce you to the site, its facilities and its rules. We will also give you information on the local area and the nearest towns and amenities. We will then have the opportunity to discuss the week’s activities and get to know each other over a BBQ and refreshments (some foods and non-alcoholic drinks provided, however you may wish to bring additional supplies). An optional night walk/ navigation exercise can be had along the easy paths around Snowdon, allowing you to experience this majestic mountain in a fashion not of the norm.
Day 2: Start the day with a good breakfast and pack what’s necessary for the day. We will then travel to our first location of the weekend. Here we will spend the morning climbing, where we will learn the fundamentals and techniques of climbing and belaying as well as challenging yourself to an abseil down a vertical rock face.
Day 3: This is mountain day! We will skirt around the Glyder ridge and head up the Ogwen valley to the legendary mountain of Trifan. Here we will make an attempt via the north face route picking up sections of rock scrambles and easy walking climbs. Taking you via the renowned cannon stone we will hit the summit and the famous twin rocks of Adam and Eve, dare you make the jump between them!
Day 4: We will journey over to Betws-y-coed for the day were we will stop for a time to enjoy what the town has to offer in the form of the beautiful waterfalls, outdoor shops and steam railway before having lunch and moving onto the parking area at the Dolgarrog gorge. Here we will kit up for an exciting and completely soaking ascent of this atmospheric canyon. Once completed we will return to the car park to change and return to the accommodation.
Day 5: With an easy start to the day, we will get kitted up for another potentially wet morning as we make our way to the water’s edge of our chosen lake. Here you will have to work together to paddle the lake in canoes or successfully construct a raft built of your own design from the materials we provide you. After this we return to the accommodation to pack up our gear, review the weekend’s activities and make our goodbyes.
PLEASE NOTE: Please note that the above itinerary is intended as a guideline only all though every effort will be made to adhere to it, changes may be forced on it by weather conditions, transport failure or other unforeseen events. Please be prepared to be flexible if necessary. Alteration and adaptation of week’s activities can be accommodated to the client’s desire.

For our family adventure weeks we will be based from the beautiful Welsh campsite of Llyn Gwynant. This campsite is designed for people who love the outdoors. The site is not over-developed, indeed our aim is that campers have a minimum impact on this environment. Out of season the land returns to green fields with little evidence of a campsite.
We do however want campers to be comfortable. We have a stone toilet block which has Ladies and Gents sections, each with toilets, hot and cold running water in basins and showers, as well as dish washing sinks at each end of the building. At the back are more showers, as well as a level entry toilet suitable for wheelchairs which also has a baby changing table. In the high season we also put portaloos in the fields.
We also have a reception building where you can seek information from staff, buy firewood, and where appliances can be recharged and freezer packs taken for freezing. This building also has a public payphone available 24 hrs a day.
