Each day we will work within and around our base to find new challenge, develop new skills and learn the work within the natural order of the forest. The experience will be tailored to the experience and capability of the individuals in the group and progress accordingly. But at the end of each day, return to the comfort of our camp and its fire to unwind, rest with a good cuppa, take on a hearty meal and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Please note that this is an example itinerary, and is dependent upon team ability, local conditions and infrastructure.

Day 1:

Group meets at the designated point in the forestry commission car park for an afternoon start. Here we will make our introductions and give you a brief outline of what to expect over the next 2 and a bit days. Then it’s off into the woods we go to find our site and set up camp for the night. We will then issue the required equipment and go through a few simple safety rules for the weekend. First order of business is to construct our “Bivi” shelters for the night, then gathering the necessary materials to build and maintain our fires and even our latrine!  We will then cook up a hearty meal and talk about the different skills we have used over a cup of woodland Greenleaf tea.

Day 2:

After a good night’s sleep under the stars and a warming breakfast we will start the day by striking our trap shelters from the night before to make way for your woodland shelters. There will then be a number of practical sessions that will be run throughout the day.

These will include:

-Fire lighting techniques

-Cutting and tool craft

-Water sourcing and purification

-Woodland shelter building

After we prepare our evening meal, we will head into the woods around our camp to look at some basics of tracking and simple trap that could be used to catch dinner! Then it’s an evening round the fire to work on some natural cordage with a brew and good conversation

Day 3:

On the morning of our final day we will again head into the woods to take a look at the flora of the area, looking at identification of some trees and plants and there uses to us. We will then return to camp were we will pack up and returning the site to how it was before we arrived, leaving no trace we were ever there. We will then review all that we have learned and give our thanks to the forest for what it has provided for us before trekking back to our meeting point where we will say our goodbyes.

PLEASE NOTE: Please note that the above itinerary is intended as a guideline only all though every effort will be made to adhere to it, changes may be forced on it by weather conditions, transport failure or other unforeseen events. Please be prepared to be flexible if necessary. Alteration and adaptation of week’s activities can be accommodated to the client’s desire.
