Sweden one of the great Scandinavian nations, holding one of the last untamed areas of deep forest in Europe. This experience is aimed at bringing the natural wonders of nature to the fore-front of your imagination and seeing what you are truly capable of. Combining the vast dense woodlands of the Boreal forests with the fresh open plains of the tundra, all under the dancing skies, this experience should leave you with a sense of awe and wonder as well as achievement that is certain to linger.
We use this unimaginably breath taking land to provide the back drop and simple solitude of nature to deliver a life affirming bush craft and survival course using the traditional styles and techniques of the native peoples. We will teach you skills in fire lighting through different methods, water sourcing, individual and group shelter building, foraging, wild cooking, safe tool usage and basic camp crafts with carving skills. We will provide you with the necessary tools, information and skills to not only survive but be comfortable in the woodland environment. However it is essential that we leave no trace of our presents and protect the resources of the area in order to minimise our impact on the environment and preserve it for the wildlife and future visitors.

The Route
Our route will take us by road vehicle north east up into the wide country of Sweden. After reaching the town of Arjang we will hit the ground and make our way by foot through the forest terrain to our 2 night camp location. A further days trek east is done to reach the second lake location before the final days push back west and homeward bound.
Strategy
The system for this experience is to start slow and build to a climax. So the first couple of days is spend together as a group and is used to reaffirm known skills and build new ones so that we can safely move on. The final day and a half we will break to individuals and spread out to give the real feeling of solitude and see what you have really learned.
This trip is exciting and challenging so we suggest you prepare and train beforehand. A generally good level of fitness will greatly improve the enjoyment you will have on the experience. Previous bush crafts experience is recommended but not required.
Expedition Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Gothenburg
All participants will fly to Gothenburg, Sweden. This is where we will meet you and bring you to the hotel for the night. Here we will have a team briefing and you will meet the rest of the team and be able to get to know each other and ask any last minute questions.
Day 2: Gothenburg to Arjang camp area
Heading north with an early start, we will travel the 3hr transfer to Arjang. From here we will gear up and hike the remaining 3 miles to the area by the shores of Lake Furuvattnet we will call home for the next 2 nights. We will begin by setting our low impact bush camp and start learning the essential skills of survival in this land.
Day 3: Skills day
This day will consist of a number of skills workshops, such as safe tool usage and fire lighting methods, and developing all manner of your woodcrafts and expanding your knowledge whilst being relaxed and comfortable in the forest environment.
Day 4: Furuvattnet camp to Nedre Tvangen
This is where the fun really begins! After a hearty breakfast and a refresher workshop we will break camp, making sure not to leave any trace of our presents. We will then hike out to a new location on the shores of Nedre Tvangen, a lake approximately 2 miles to the east of our camp. Here we will break into smaller groups or individuals (depending on group size) and finding an area of our own, we will make a camp for the night using the skill we have learnt. This will prove a challenge in the solitude but will give the chance to be truly at one with the environment.
Day 5: Nedre Tvangen to Gothenburg
We rise early again to enjoy the final morning overlooking the lake before we begin the homeward leg of our expedition. Striking camp, making sure we follow our ethos, we will come together to trek the 5miles back to Arjang where we will pick up our transport and head back to Gothenburg and our hotel for the night. Here we will debrief from the experience then enjoy a hot shower and a soft bed before saying our good byes.
