Austria remains a firm favourite with skiers all over Europe, and for good reason! Skiing is the national sport and this is reflected in its excellent ski areas, with state of the art lift systems and well groomed slopes. Resorts are often centred around charming villages and the welcoming hospitality of the locals will make you feel at home. Après ski is also something of an unofficial national sport here, and there are lots of lively bars on the slopes and off.
Visit one of the 'Bad' (spa) towns (Bad Ischl, Bad Gastein) if you like the idea of wallowing in thermal spring waters after a day on the slopes, or try the lesser known resorts of Matrei and Gosau if you are looking for a more affordable ski trip.
Germany is less well known internationally for skiing, but it offers some lovely resorts full of local character and good hotels (like Oberstaufen), while après ski is as lively as the resorts over the border in Austria.

Our ski holidays in Austria are all conveniently located within 2 hours of Salzburg and Innsbruck airports, while our flexible ski break in Oberstaufen, Germany, is just 1 hour from Memmingen and Friedrichshafen airports.

Ski school
If you would like to learn to ski in Austria or brush up on your skills, then just let us know and we can help you book lessons at your chosen resort. A private 1-hour lesson for one person usually costs in the region of € 45 depending on the day of the week or high/low season. For ski breaks at Christmas, New Year and February half term we recommend booking in advance.
Accommodation
Our ski accommodation in Austria and Germany is in good quality 3 and 4 star hotels, including breakfast or half board. Arrival dates are completely flexible, just look at the minimum stay required for each package. Most packages can be booked online, however if you can't find availability for your preferred dates, contact us.
Eating and drinking
Austria is the spiritual home of après ski, so even the quietest of resorts usually have at least one bar that gets rowdy mid-afternoon.
Food on and off the slopes is filling and portions are generally pretty generous, think goulash soup, wiener schnitzel, and all manner of dumplings. As with other Alpine regions there are more vegetarian options on offer these days, though most traditional dishes are meat-based.
